Veteran Afghanistan batter Noor Ali Zadran has announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing down curtains on an international career spanning more than a decade. The 35-year-old, who starred with a 28-ball 45 in Afghanistan's first-ever ODI against Scotland in 2009, played his final game last week at the Tolerance Oval in the Test match against Ireland. "Top-order batter @NoorAliZadran decided to call time on his international cricket. He has represented #AfghanAtalan in 2 Tests, 51 ODIs and 23 T20Is and has scored 1930 runs with 11 fifties and a hundred to his name," Afghanistan Cricket Board tweeted on Thursday.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz posted his sixth one-day international century as Afghanistan eased to a 35-run win over Ireland in the opening one-day international in Sharjah on Thursday. Put into bat, Afghanistan posted 310-5 in their 50 overs with Ibrahim Zadran making 60 in an opening partnership of 150 with Gurbaz who made 121. Ireland slipped to 34-3 before Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker added 173 for the fourth wicket. Tector went on to make 138, his fifth ODI hundred, but as wickets fell at the other end, Ireland could only reach 275-8.
Harry Tector's fine century proved in vain as Ireland were beaten by 35 runs against Afghanistan in their first one-day international in Sharjah.

Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma is well known for his hilarious one-liners and in recent times, he has been caught delivering witty quips on the stump mic in the middle of the matches. One such exchange that went viral on social media happened during the third T20I match against Afghanistan in Bengaluru. Rohit was dismissed for a duck in the two previous matches of the series and in the third match, he got off the mark with a boundary. However, umpire Virender Sharma signalled that it was a leg-bye which led to Rohit delivering an epic dialogue. “Arey Viru, thigh-pad diya kya pehla four? Bat laga tha! (Hey Viru, did you signal for the thigh pad on the first four? I hit that with my bat!)”
India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson is widely popular for his cricketing heroics. The Kerala-based cricketer has gained a huge fan following all over the world. Despite being sidelined by the selectors, Samson still maintains a strong image in front of his fans. Recently, Samson won everyone's heart with his sweet gesture for a specially-able kid.
